ProFood Tech 2019: industry confirms call for a central platform for suppliers of the food industry in the USA

Following the successful premiere in April of this year, ProFood Tech is once again picking up speed for 2019. The trade fair in Chicago had already underlined its importance as a central industry platform for suppliers of the food and beverage processing industry in North America with the first event. The trade fair format of ProFood Tech was conceived of by Koelnmesse GmbH, PMMI: The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies and the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), together with the industry and following the model of leading Cologne trade fairs. The event addresses the call of many years from the industry for a single, central and strong trade platform in the USA. It gathers the supply and the demand in the food processing branch across all industry segments on the American continent every two years. The next ProFood Tech will take place from 26-28 March 2019 on the McCormick Place fair grounds in Chicago. The plans are being further developed in a dialogue with the industry in order to precisely suit the requirements of the NAFTA market. The high quality exhibitor advisory board, with big market players like Tetra Pak, GEA, Harpak-ULMA Packaging, Serac and others bundles the interests of the exhibitors and represents these in the conceptualisation of the trade fair. Companies that wish to present their products and innovations at ProFood Tech 2019 can still profit from the attractive early bird conditions until 3 November 2017.

"The convincing result for the premiere of ProFood Tech and the positive response from the industry confirm the interest in a new, leading international trade fair in the NAFTA region“, Denis Steker, Vice President International of Koelnmesse GmbH is pleased to state. Especially promising for the coming event in 2019 is the high degree of internationality and quality of exhibitors that was already evident in 2017, as well as the very high quality of buyers and trade visitors at the trade fair premiere. Many of the leading exhibitors in the market represented this year with large stand areas have therefore already announced their participation in the next edition. Due to the great demand, ProFood Tech 2019 is moving to the larger and more centrally located West Building on the McCormick Place fair grounds in Chicago.

ProFood Tech is the only trade fair in North America to represent all segments of food and beverage technology. It thus takes on the task of responding to the call of the industry for a reduction in the number of necessary trade fair participation measures with a central trade fair platform in the USA. It unites supply and demand in the food processing field in the Baking & Snack, Beverage, Confectionery, Dairy, Fruit & Vegetables, Grain, Mill & Cereal, Meat, Poultry and Seafood, Pet Food & Pet Care and Prepared Foods segments. The concept of the trade fair offering a central technology platform in the NAFTA region convinced the industry at the premiere. "Based on conversations with attendees and exhibitors, we heard the new show provides countless growth opportunities for companies willing to employ new technology and techniques to boost production, efficiency and profits“, according to Neil Moran, Senior Vice President of IDFA, a co-organiser of the trade fair.

Cooperation with the expanded exhibitor advisory board, once again represented by high quality market figures like Azo, Chr. Hansen, GEA, Delkor Systems, Deville Technologies, Harpak-ULMA Packaging, Polypack, Serac and Tetra Pak, ensured a high degree of industry relevance and professional expertise in the conceptualisation of the next ProFood Tech. “Working with our new Exhibitor Advisory Council ensures that ProFood Tech 2019 has not only support across market segments but also gives us the most current insight into the processing landscape”, says Jim Pittas, Chief Operating Officer of the co-organiser PMMI. Like with the premiere this year, international exhibitors and trade visitors will also profit in the coming edition in 2019 from an ambitious event programme that is integrated into the hall area, and will thus ensure even more visitors. At conferences and in workshops, renowned industry experts will present innovations and processes in food technology, as well as current consumer and taste trends. With best practice examples from food processing, ProFood Tech 2019 will provide further options for innovative trends and industry insights, as well as profitable networking.
