Plamil Foods develops ‘sugar-free’ chocolate range using xylitol

Plamil Foods – the UK-based producer of organic and vegan chocolate – has launched a range of snack bars with no added sugar.

The 35g bars are made with 72% cocoa which is UTZ (Rainforest) certified. The sweetness derives from Finnish birch xylitol, which delivers a great taste while still offering consumers a sought-after sugar-free ingredient deck.

There are three different bars: finest dark chocolate, espresso dark chocolate, and cool mint dark chocolate. As with all of Plamil’s chocolate, the three snack bars are gluten- and nut-free as well as vegan.

All of the range is made to the highest vegan standards and carries Plamil’s Sugarwise logo, encouraging consumers to take up snacks that they know are not loaded with sugar.

As well as the new no-added-sugar snack bars, Plamil produce a wide range of organic and vegan products.

The new bars have a recommended retail price of £1.19 and are available from Holland & Barrett, as well as leading independent health stores and online.
