Golden Peanut & Tree Nuts to Enhance Storage Capacity in Argentina

Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts, a subsidiary of Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), have announced that it is investing in a new warehouse at its receiving and storage facility in Alejandro Roca, Argentina.

“Argentina is one of the largest producers of edible peanuts in the world, and as a major global player, Golden Peanut is investing to ensure that we have more than enough capability to continue to meet increasing demand,” said Greg Mills, president, Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts. “This project will ensure that we are able to safely and efficiently receive and store increasing volumes of farmer stock so that we can continue to supply customers around the world with the quality peanuts they’ve come to expect from Golden.”

The upgrade plans include:
A new raw material warehouse with a capacity of 18,000 metric tons.
Efficient loading systems, including an overhead belt to receive incoming farmer stock, and an underground belt to feed Golden’s processing operations directly.

“Increasing crops in the region without corresponding increases in storage have led to bottlenecks and loss of product,” said Carlos Urquiza, president and general Manager of Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts’ operations in Argentina. “Our new warehouse will reduce losses, decrease unload times, and improve quality control from the farm field to the customer. We are proud to invest in these enhancements. Coming after significant investments in storage and processing capabilities in the United States, this is yet another sign that Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts is continuing to work to ensure that it remains the premier provider of peanuts and peanut products in the world.”
